On April 9-11, the training “Publishing DNA-derived Biodiversity Data to GBIF” was held, organized by KSIB (Polish node of GBIF), of which PolBOL is a part. The aim of the course was to increase the possibilities of publishing DNA-derived biodiversity data in GBIF in Poland and to establish cooperation between researchers using DNA-derived biodiversity data and KSIB data managers. The course was attended by 25 scientists from all over Poland, including Gabriela Karlik, Sylwia Holak and Jagoda Łuczyńska from the University of Lodz. The course was led by four instructors: Julia Pawłowska, Tobias Frøslev, Piotr Tykarski and Tomasz Mamos representing PolBOL, who presented how molecular data help in describing biodiversity and identifying species and led workshops on the use of the BOLD database.
